Real Chainsaw Art

Start of real chainsaw art in 1952 was by Ray Murphy using his dad's chainsaw. Real chainsaw art is done by using chainsaws to saw art without using any other tools. No carving or sanding tools are used at all.Ray Murphy has been sawing real chainsaw art for over 58 years. Ray sawed primarily flat work in the beginning and has been sawing 3 demensional sculptures since 1953.Ray has taken his art to level of sawing many near impossible feats. Ray still ventures into sawing items that have never been done before with a chainsaw. At this point Ray knows he will be able to saw 18 numbers on a toothpick. He plans to have this ready for the 2010 season at his chainsaw sawyer artist live show in Hancock,Maine.--Update--Ray Sawed 19 numbers on a toothpick on July 24,2010.
